Happy New Year!

Have a very Happy New Year from everyone on the affiliate.com team! We’re all looking forward to a great 2011!

Don’t Be Just a “Resolution Affiliate”

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know that I occasionally draw parallels between affiliate marketing and other activities like working out or snowboarding. With the year wrapping up, I thought of another interesting parallel this morning.

Anyone who has been going to the gym on a regular basis for at least a couple of years will tell you that, just like clockwork, every January kicks off with a sudden influx of people hitting the weights, treadmills, and cardio classes. Through the first month of every year, it seems like there are more people in the gym every day. The gym regulars call these new people the resolution crowd. Basically, they are exactly what the name suggests – people who have made a resolution to lose weight or get in better shape for the upcoming year. Some of them have been members of the gym for a while, but rarely worked out and others are brand new members.

5 New Year’s Resolutions for Affiliate Marketers

It’s that time again, when we all look forward to the New Year and make resolutions about what we want to accomplish, change, or improve during the coming year. While you may already be planning a few personal resolutions to lose a few pounds, spend more time with family, attend a baseball game in every major league ballpark, jump out of an airplane, learn to play the pan flute, or whatever else piques your interest – don’t forget to come up with a resolution or two for your business.

So, while you are on your own in making resolutions to learn ballroom dancing or improve your tennis game, here are a few resolution ideas for that could help you grow your business in 2011.

New Survey Shows Internet Users Don’t Want to be Tracked

Last week, the results were released from a recent USA Today/Gallup poll of U.S. internet users about their views of online tracking for ad targeting. As I have written about recent governmental discussions of a proposed “Do-Not-Track” system, it seemed worth looking at this new poll and see if it helps to shed any additional light on the issue.
